Average person does not exist

check this out-->>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULRosL7AOpk

i think thAt this speech is really entertaining. it has its good points, but what i was really thinking is that is this how, we the youth, think nowadays. that being average is more than enough; is this how we address the problems we face; that getting by is our only goal.

What if our ancestors have this mindset in something like this, that killing an animal by running after them is enough, no spear or anything, the average way of hunting for dinner. if that was the case then i guess we would still be wearing nothing today.

i think the concept of 'average' only exist in books, what i think is that there is no average person in this world. everyone is exceptional in their own unique little way, i know it sounds cliched, but i strongly believe that this is true. think of someone just anyone, someone you think that you are superior to; then think of the things that you can do that he cant, can you be certain that he cant do that. what if he is thinking of you as his inferior does that make you even??? NO. that doesnt make you averages, that makes you exceptional in a different way.

Our society values exceptional people in different ways, for example an exceptionally intelligent academician is not as valued if you bring him to a wrestling match. how we see things is relative to what their position is in our universe. I sincerely believe that no is average. But still there are stupid people out there who cease to use their thinking capacity.

An Open letter to 'Activists'

Last night i was watching the news and i have seen how things in Thailand went from bad to worse. from what i see the red movement in Thailand is going very violent every passing minute. it was very hard for me not to compare the situation in thailand and here in the Philippines.
the previous paragraph is not really connected to the thought i have in mind, the event stated above is what started the flow of thought in my mind.

I think that activism is a really good in certain situations thing it maintains the balance of power in our society, it is a proof that not all power is concentrated in our government and the people with positions and power. But sometimes activists are really going out of line, that the people in position aren't able to perform jobs. It is not easy to please everybody but i think it is just right to give the people in the positions the chance to perform their duties. From what i am seeing (here in the Philippines) we want our officials to fix our situation but we arent willing to cooperate, instead when they lay out a rule we go out on the street and go on making noises, shouting, burning the images of these officials, which most of the time creating more trouble than what we are trying to solve. what i am trying to point out is that we too should do our part in making this country work. ive seen a lot of people trying to talk a lot and do nothing, if we do these we are no different from the very people that we are addressing in our street rallies and what not.
Activism is actively participating in the processes in our society. Shouting and creating street scenes is not truly being active. though i think it is a part of being an active citizen i think we should devote more time and do our designated role in our society to make things work for all of us.
